Seahawks 2019 roster projection before preseason game 4
By Lee Vowell
Offensive line
Starters: Left tackle Duane Brown, left guard Mike Iupati, center Justin Britt, right guard D.J. Fluker, right tackle Germain ifedi
Depth: Ethan Pocic, George Fant, Joey Hunt and Jamarco Jones
Cuts: Jordan Roos, Elijah Nkansah, Jordan Simmons, Marcus Martin, Landon Turner and Brian Wallace
PUP: Phil Haynes
The starters are easy. If everyone can stay healthy, especially Iupati and Fluker who have histories of getting injured, then this line really could be a top-five unit. In preseason the groups has pass-blocked well and we all know what they can do as run-blockers.
The big surprise of the preseason is how well Pocic has played. Lasy year he looked weak and loss. This preseason, albeit sometimes against backups, he looks much more in control and ready to help the team. I didn’t think he would make the team until the last couple of weeks and now I think he is a sure thing.
Fant makes the team as a lineman who will get more snaps at the conventional tight end spot. He is a solid blocker.
Hunt is a smart player who will be a coach one day. He is an ideal backup to Britt should Britt be lost to injury.
Seattle has hopes that Jones can be good one day if he can ever stay healthy. He hasn’t yet but maybe he is due to do so.
Simmons was a solid backup last year but is not going to make the team. Neither is Nkansah who has been terrible in preseason.
