This was far from the Seahawks best game. One player overcame some critical mistakes to play a solid game. Russell Wilson is today’s MVP.

The Seahawks played an awful game today in nearly every facet possible. Hopefully, they got their worst play out of their system today. On a day with so many mistakes, it was good to see one player manage to actually have a solid game. Bobby Wagner gave this one his all. But he’s not my MVP. That has to go to Russell Wilson.

Wagner wasn’t the only member of the team to have a good game. Tyler Lockett had another beautiful game as he hauled in eleven catches for 154 yards and a score. Will Dissly caught six of his seven targets and scored his third touchdown of the season. K.J. Wright had 13 total tackles. But before I move on to Wilson’s game, I want to talk a bit more about Bobby Wagner.

The Seahawks middle linebacker had eighteen combined tackles in this game. In what is almost certainly a Hall of Fame career, his previous high was 16 total tackles, which he’d managed once. Let me spell that out: e-i-g-h-t-e-e-n tackles. 14 of those were assists, meaning he was all over the field today. Still, he didn’t manage a signature stop, so I went with another player who set a personal record.

Russell Wilson threw for 406 yards and two touchdowns today and ran for two more. He completed 32 passes, tying his personal record, and threw 50 times, setting a new record. His 406 yards were the second-highest of his career. This is the eighth time he’s accounted for four touchdowns in a game. He’s thrown for five touchdowns twice, so it wasn’t his career-best. Regardless, it was still a big game.

That isn’t to say it was a perfect game by Wilson. It was far from what has typically been a supremely efficient performance. He had several terrible overthrows. including one to DK Metcalf. How do you overthrow that dude? He shorted a couple of passes, including one to Will DIssly that could have gone for much bigger yardage, if not a touchdown. But Wilson’s miscues were nothing compared to the comedy of errors that the Seahawks committed today.

Next. We warned you about Kamara. dark

Tyler Lockett, Will Dissly, and especially Bobby Wagner had great games today. Russell Wilson certainly didn’t play his cleanest game today. But there’s no doubt at all that without all of his great plays, the Seahawks would have been nowhere close to coming back from their mistakes. Wilson will play better, as will the Hawks. At least he gave the 12s some reasons to smile in a tough game to watch.
