Five reasons for confidence in the Seahawks versus Cardinals
Seahawks coaching staff gets back on track
Coaching. In my boldest prediction, I believe the Seahawks coaching staff will show up for work. They made so many critical errors against the Saints, it was just hard to believe. As Pete Carroll said, the loss goes to the coaches far more than any player. There’s simply no way anyone can have a .622 winning percentage with his team if he can’t coach. Maybe that football to the nose bothered him more than he let on. Watch yourself, Cody Barton. All kidding aside, I have no doubt that Carroll will bounce back.
The Seahawks made half a dozen huge mistakes against the Saints. Not all were on the coaching staff – I’m looking at you, Chris Carson – but most were. From the inexplicable clock management that wasted a spectacular catch by Metcalf to the bizarre decision to kick an extra point when trailing by 11, the Hawks made about every bad decision possible.
Despite all this, Seattle nearly came back to win the game. The play of Wagner, Lockett, and Wilson nearly pulled it off last week. This week, they won’t have nearly as much to overcome. This will be tougher than it should be, as it always is with Arizona, but I see this as Seahawks 25, Cardinals 13.
