Seahawks won with a total team effort versus the Cardinals
Seahawks offense got contributions from everyone
Will Dissly came up with another big game. That seems to be a habit with him, a very good habit at that. He brought down 7 of his eight targets for 57 yards and a score. Dissly now has four touchdowns in four games, and hauls passes in at an 86 percent clip. He’s been a big part of the Seahawks success every week. The win in Arizona was no different.
Russell Wilson didn’t have to be the MVP for the Seahawks, for once. Make no mistake, the DangeRuss one had a solid performance. 22 of 28 for 240 yards, one score, and no turnovers is a very nice game. That no turnover bit was lucky as he fumbled twice. Luckily he covered one and D.J. Fluker recovered the other. I expected he’d have a solid game, nothing spectacular against the Cardinals as they tend to play him fairly tough. He moved back to that old “game manager” mode, and managed the Hawks to an important win here.
C.J. Prosise may not have been the game’s most valuable player, but he made the key play that iced this contest for Seattle. He only got three carries and was stuffed on his first two. He made his third opportunity count, as he took the ball nine yards in to put the Hawks up 27-10. Speaking of this game’s MVP, that young Chris Carson kid was pretty darn good. But he needed a breather after the Cardinals finally managed to stop him on two straight runs. Enter Prosise, with his first touchdown since – wait for it – his rookie season of 2016. Truly, patience is a virtue.
I could go on with so many of the Hawks. Jaron Brown and Tyler Lockett made big catches time after time. Bobby Wagner had eleven tackles, while both Shaquill Griffin and Tre Flowers kept the Cardinals receivers in check with Bradley McDougald directing the secondary. Both the offense and the defense had multiple stars in this game. Seattle will definitely need more of the same when they take on the Rams this Thursday, and I believe they’ll get it.
