The Seahawks should look to trade for cornerback Chris Harris Jr.

My proposed Seahawks trade

Seahawks receive:

Chris Harris Jr

2020 6th round pick

Broncos receive:

2020 5th round pick

2020 6th round pick

Why this trade makes sense for both parties:

Seahawks: The team is out performing all expectations outside the Seattle fan base. With the NFC West looking to be one the most competitive division in the NFL through the first 5 weeks the Seahawks should look to the trade market to shore up some of their weak spots. Cornerback play has been a position of concern so far this season. Shaquill Griffin has outperformed expectation thus far, however, Tre flowers has firmly cemented himself in the sophomore slump. Jamar Taylor has performed admirably in his limited snaps in the slot. However, given the pure fire power that teams are utilizing with the passing game, it would benefit to look for a truly elite slot corner to help shore up the secondary. The Hawks post trade will still have $8.7 million left in cap room. This is more than enough cap space to cover any injuries that might occur.

Broncos: With the boat sinking quickly for the aging team, they will likely look to recoup as much draft capital as possible in the up coming draft. This would allow them to look to the future, give a few younger players a shot at taking over, and another pick in the talented 2020 draft class. The trade would free up $9.8 million in cap space for the Broncos. This would essentially be acquiring the 5th round comp pick a year early at the cost of a 6th round swap for Harris. Harris is 30 years old and with the team looking to potentially start over, he would of likely been looking for a new home come the 2020 season.
