Seahawks sack 49ers quarterback C.J. Beathard
SANTA CLARA, CA – NOVEMBER 26: C.J. Beathard /

My Proposed Trade:

Seahawks Receive:

Jamal Adams

2020 5th round pick

Jets Receive:

2020 1st round pick

2020 2nd round pick (KC)

DE Branden Jackson

Why this trade makes sense for both parties:

Seahawks: With Seattle sitting at 5-1 the team should look to shore up its weak spots. The three main weak spots would be the offensive line, defensive line and secondary. Defensive tackle Jarran Reed is coming back from suspension this week and should be available to play week 7. If he can pick up where he left off last year it should improve everyone around him thus negating the need for defensive line help.

Jamarco Jones and George Fant proved in week 6 they are more than capable playing with the starters, and rookie guard Phil Haynes is coming off the PUP this week. The O-line at this point, is more of a luxury than an immediate need.

This leaves the secondary as the most glaring need. Jamal Adams would be a plug and play player in at the strong safety spot, where we would let him wreak havoc in the middle of the field and at the line of scrimmage as Kam once did. The defense has been severely lacking in a playmaker that makes the offensive player think twice before going in that direction with the football, Adams could be that guy.

Any chance to pick up a player of his caliber should be jumped on in this ultra-competitive NFC West. Having Adams playing deep would allow Griffin and McDougald the luxury of playing more aggressively on the ball potentially resulting in an increase in turnovers.

Jets: Ordinarily a team would do everything in its power to keep a talent on a rookie scale contract such as Jamal Adams. However, just two weeks into the season Adams was benched late in the game against the Browns. After the game Adams unfollowed the Jets on social media and has had turmoil with the defensive coordinator Gregg Williams. Jamal Adams has also stated publicly he believes he is the best safety in the game, how long until he demands top safety money? Could he demand an early extension such as Ezekiel Elliot? The team could look to acquire top value on the Adams before any potential holdout/ locker room drama could occur as they look to potentially retool and rebuild the team from the ground up.
