The Falcons defense is um….

12th man Rising: What exactly is the problem with the Falcons defense? Is it scheme or personnel and can the issue be fixed this season?

Jeff Benedict: Both. The Falcons whiffed on Vic Beasley and Takk McKinley and have no one inside that can run with Grady Jarrett. De’Vondre Campbell has taken a huge step backward and the secondary just doesn’t communicate. Personnel is an issue that usually a good scheme can hide some of their inefficiencies. Unfortunately, the Falcons scheme seems to bring out their issues even more. This team has been through three full defensive staff changes in the five years under Dan Quinn as head coach and each change brings worse results.

Should Falcons fans have hope against the Seahawks?

12th Man Rising: The Falcons don’t have a good record, of course, but this is the NFL and on any given Sunday one team can beat the other (unless you are the Dolphins). What are a few reasons Falcons fans should have faith their team will beat Seattle?

Jeff Benedict: I honestly do not think there is any. Matt Ryan and Grady Jarrett did not practice this week and are game-time decisions. Fans are under the impression that with a loss Sunday heading into the bye-week that Dan Quinn will be fired and most of them are hoping that this happens.

Short of Russell Wilson throwing five interceptions, I don’t see how the Falcons win Sunday.
