NFC starting QB Power Ranks: Seahawks Russell Wilson still on top?
I love Dak Prescott. He’s not an elite quarterback, but he is in that tier just below elite. He is a Superbowl caliber guy and is a good blend of game manager and playmaker. He can beat you in a shootout or play the field position game.
He moves well in the pocket and understands his limitations. In short, Prescott is a solid, high-floor option who is a perfect fit for the Dallas Cowboys. Stop lowballing him and get a deal done Jerry.
I’ve kind of been in a lonely place called, “Aaron Rodgers is now overrated Island” and I understand the blowback. He makes some incredible plays and the numbers show him as one of the greatest to ever set foot on a field. And he was for a large portion of his career. He just isn’t anymore.
He takes bad sacks, hurries through his reads, and just misses guys too often to be the best in the game. That being said, he is simply incredible and is firmly entrenched inside my Top 5 overall QBs in the game today. If that makes me a hater, then so be it. But Rodgers isn’t what he used to be, and that is just fine.
It’s nice to have Drew Brees back on the list, after his injury last time around precluded him from being on our ranks. I love Drew Brees. He makes great decisions, is laser-accurate, is deceptively elusive in the pocket, and appears to be a world-class leader.
His pro-football reference page is ridiculously littered with the bold print and he is amongst the greatest football players of all-time. Brees is in excellent shape to get his second super bowl ring and makes his organization better at every turn.
Yeah, he’s still #1. Why wouldn’t he be? The Seahawks’ Russell Wilson is the best QB in the conference and it still isn’t all that close IMO. What do you want a QB to do? Be a great leader? Check. Take care of the football? Check. Throw TD’s? Check. Make everybody around him better? Check.
There is nothing on the football field Wilson can’t do and he should be the clear cut MVP of the first half of the NFL season. Russell is limited in his offense which suppresses his counting stats but he is as elite as they come. Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson is the best player on the planet, so of course, he found his way back on top of our list.
