The Seahawks are 9-2 entering week 13. Here are a few reasons on Thanksgiving that 12s can be thankful for their 2019 Seattle team.

Happy Thanksgiving, 12s! And when it comes to the Seahawks, there are a bunch of reasons to be thankful in 2019. Sure, Seattle has mostly been successful over the last decade or so. But I don’t think anyone though Seattle would have the record it currently has this far into 2019.

On this Thanksgiving, here are five quick reasons to be happy about your Seahawks this season.

Seattle is currently 9-2

Sure, Seattle, as it turns out, had a fairly easy schedule turns out. But Seattle has also defeated the 49ers and is 6-0 on the road. Those are two things no other team in the NFL has done this year. (San Francisco is undefeated on the road too but has only won 5 games and play the Ravens on the road this week.) Seattle might have more losses this season, but on this day a 9-2 Seahawks team is something to be thankful for.

Russell Wilson is having a career year

Wilson might not have played great this past Sunday but he still leads the league in touchdown passes (24) and his quarterback rating is a career-high 112.1. If Seattle has nearly any other NFL quarterback they wouldn’t have a 9-2 record. Plus, if you took Wilson and put him on any other team, like the Patriots, they would be even better. But Wilson is the Seahawks quarterback and that is very good.

The Griffin brothers

Shaquill Griffin is having a good year and better than last. He is becoming one of the better cornerbacks in the NFL. And Shaquem Griffin is becoming a more important player on defense by being used to pressure quarterbacks. The best thing about the Griffins, though, is that they are good dudes and the world could use more people like them.

Pete Carroll is the Seahawks coach

Carroll might have issues with clock management at times and maybe his personality rubs some people the wrong way. But I like Carroll’s demeanor and he is good for the city of Seattle. Plus, Carroll is a great coach and if some 12s aren’t happy with his 98-56-1 record since coming to the Seahawks 10 years ago, then maybe they should go find a lesser team to pull for.

The Seahawks defense is getting better as the year goes on

This is a true Pete Carroll team. His teams usually get better as the season goes on unless there is some unforeseen issue, like issues, that get in the way. The last two games, Seattle’s defense has produced 8 takeaways and held the 49ers and Eagles to combined 21 points of offense (San Francisco scored one of their touchdowns on defense against Seattle). The good thing is one of the reasons for the turnaround in the acquisition on Quandre Diggs and he is under contract for a couple more seasons. So look for Seattle’s defensive success to grow.
