Three Seahawks that need to play well versus Vikings for Seattle to win

The Seahawks are 9-2 and the Vikings are 8-3. But if these three Seattle players do not play well on Monday, Seattle will lose at home to Minnesota.

The Seahawks do not have to beat the Vikings to keep their position for the 2019 playoffs. Minnesota is 8-3 and the other team somewhat entrenched in postseason seeding at this point. In a way, the Vikings need the game more than Seattle does because a loss means the Vikings have 4 losses on the year and drops them closer to the other teams fighting for a playoff berth.

Seattle is currently 3 games ahead of the Rams, plus they have a win over Los Angeles so they have a half-game advantage that way too. After the Rams, the Bears, Cowboys, Eagles (who Seattle has beaten) and the Panthers (who the Seahawks will play) all have 6 losses. Seattle shouldn’t lose 3 more games if they are truly as good as their 9-2 record indicates but losing 4 games seems really unlikely.

This means that should Seattle defeat Minnesota on Monday Night Football, something terrible – like an injury to Russell Wilson – would have to happen to keep them from getting to the postseason.

But if the Seahawks lose to the Vikings, they face a schedule that doesn’t have any easy wins. Seattle still has to play the 49ers, the Rams, the Panthers and the Cardinals (Arizona is a dangerous team because of what their offense is capable of). Seattle going 2-3 the rest of the season has every chance of happening with a loss to the Vikings.

For Seattle to beat Minnesota, though, three players (besides Wilson, of course) need to play and play well.
