How the Seahawks can trade for star WR Odell Beckham Jr this offseason
By Geoff Shull
Seahawks have history of big trades
Reports have also surfaced over the last month that Beckham has been telling opposing coaches and players “come get me.” Its apparent the fit hasn’t been seamless with the Browns and Beckham sounds ready to move on just three quarters a season into his tenure with his new team.
Seattle has shown they aren’t afraid to make splash trades, think back to Marshawn Lynch, Percy Harvin, Jimmy Graham, Sheldon Richardson, Jadeveon Clowney, and Quandre Diggs. GM John Schneider and Pete Carroll are one of the few teams that are not afraid to trade for big personalities. They have actually built a culture that not only accepts those personalities but lets them thrive. Players want to play their best ball for Seattle because they are happy playing for the standup organization.
The Seahawks are obviously looking for other playmakers on the offensive end after Will Dissly 2nd season ending injury. Rumors swirled that Russell Wilson was pushing the front office to sign Antonio Brown. Seattle instead chose a different wide receiver and was the only team to submit a waiver claim for Josh Gordon, a talented receiver with some heavy baggage. Russell can’t have enough playmakers around him. Odell Beckham at his best is a top 3 wide receiver and is just 27 years old.
