Weather can always be an issue late in the season at the Packers’ Lambeau Field. But when the Seahawks play Green Bay Sunday the weather won’t be a factor.

12s and the Seahawks who played in the game will never forget what it was like when Seattle played the Vikings in the playoffs on January 10, 2016. The temperature was -10 in Minnesota that day.

It was so cold that Bobby Wagner said it was the only time he could ever remember that if he sneezed the spray would freeze before it hit the ground.

Thankfully, when the Seahawks play the Packers in the divisional round of the playoffs on Sunday, the weather will not be a factor. On Saturday, up to 10 inches of snow was predicted to fall near Lambeau Field. Instead, a dusting to about an inch accumulated. Sunday, the forecast is for a partly cloudy start followed by mostly cloudy skies and then snow, but after the game is over.

It is still going to be cold as the game time temperature is expected to be around 22 degrees but think of it this way. 22 degrees is 30 degrees higher than it was when Seattle played the Vikings. The wind should only be around 5 MPH as well, so throwing the ball will not be affected by the breeze and the wind chill factor will not be much worse than the actual temperature.

Russell Wilson played his final year of college football at the University of Wisconsin. While he didn’t spend a lot of years in the state playing football, he still had to learn to adjust to how to play. So he will not be unfamiliar with the conditions.

The Packers will still have home field advantage and be the healthier team, but they won’t at least have Mother Nature on their side. At this point in the season, the Seahawks will take any kind of break they can get.
