Why the trade makes sense for Seahawks

Seattle has a clear need for a premier LEO to consistently attack the quarterback, Miller would fit into this mold perfectly. While neither Denver nor Miller have sought a trade, it wouldn’t be far fetched to see the star DE doing just that. Miller is entering his age 31 season, while the Broncos are thoroughly engulfed in a rebuild. Miller hasn’t tasted the playoffs since Peyton Manning left the NFL back in 2015.

The 2020 NFL season is Von Miller’s final year under contract with the Broncos. He will account for a cap hit of $25.625 million against the books. This is a heavy hit for the rebuilding Broncos to carry. The Broncos could look to trade him this year to ensure they gain value from his services in case he were to leave in 2021.

With this draft being loaded with offensive playmakers, it’s completely possible to see a trade coming to fruition if Seattle were to come in strong with their offer. This would allow the Broncos to focus the rebuild on the offensive side of the ball.

They have their franchise QB in Drew Lock, they just need to surround him with a plethora of offensive playmakers to help aid in his development. Seattle has 3 picks in the first 2 rounds, they could part with one of those picks and throw in another mid-round pick next year to make this work.
