Round two, pick 27 (59th overall) – Marlon Davidson, defensive lineman, Auburn

Marlon Davidson already sounds like a member of the Seahawks. At the NFL combine, he said things like, “…the most enjoyable moment about ball, to just go out there and really abuse somebody.” Isn’t that the perfect Seattle defensive player? Back when the Legion of Boom was at its peak, Seattle physically intimidated people. Davidson can do that.

Davidson is not a pure pass rusher, and that is a good thing, Seattle needs help along the defensive line interior and at end. Davidson can flex to both roles. He’s 6’3″ and 278 and has quickness. If Seattle could get Baun and Davidson with their first two picks, that is a win.

Round two, pick 32 (64th overall) – Cam Akers, running back, Florida State

I had the Seahawks picking Cam Akers in my last mock draft as well in the same slot. Akers is a big back, perfect for the Pete Carroll scheme of what he wants his offense to be. Akers isn’t 240 pounds, but his lower body and strength is that of someone who would weigh that much.

Behind a bad offensive line in college, Akers still powered his way to averaging nearly 5 yards-per-carry in 586 rushes. He can generate yards on his own. Akers could be a future starter with the Seahawks.
