Seahawks 7-round mock draft: Seattle goes edge rusher first
By Lee Vowell
Round three, pick 37 (101st overall) – Nick Harris, center Washington
My thought process here is that the Seahawks still end up releasing starting center Justin Britt sooner rather than later. He is due to make nearly $11 million and cutting him saves some cash. While I could see the Seahawks picking Michigan’s Cesar Ruiz earlier in this draft, I think waiting to pick Nick Harris is worth it.
Harris is a pure center and cannot do much else. That said, he could be a starter in the NFL at center for several years. He plays with determination and a low center of gravity and he will be Seattle’s center for the next 7 years.
Round four, pick 27 (133rd overall) – Isaiah Hodgins, receiver, Oregon State
The Seahawks ideally like big receivers. This is why Seattle tendered David Moore this offseason. But Isaiah Hodgins is hurt by a really good class of receiver in 2020. In a lot of years, he would go earlier than the 4th round. But luckily for the Seahawks, the 6’4″ receiver who can high point the ball well falls to Seattle in the fourth round.
Round four, pick 38 (144th overall) – Leki Fotu, defensive tackle, Utah
For some reason, I just believe Leki Fotu is going to be a Seahawk. Seattle needs help on the interior of its defensive line and Fotu is a big guy who is hard to move and is going to stop the run for several years in the NFL. Might as well be with Seattle.
