The Seahawks surprised many fans and analysts with their selection of Jordyn Brooks. However, there are many remaining needs that need to be addressed.

Jordyn Brooks was secretly a great selection for the Seahawks. He is a heat-seeking missile with 3 down upside. He should be a special teams ace this year with the ability to slot into the SAM position help by Mychal Kendricks last year when converting back to base. Between his speed, feel for the game, leadership and nastiness, this could be a sneakily great pick. After all, Brooks had a 91.5 PFF grade last year in run defense. I feel a lot better about Brooks than I did LJ Collier last year.

Now that I have established where I am at with the first-round selection, its time to look to day 2. There are a few glaring needs and some phenomenal players still on the board. I suspect the focus in rounds 2 and 3 will be in the trenches and skill positions. Very few of the running backs and defensive lineman were taken in round 1.

If a player like Jonathan Taylor or Yetur Gross Matos were to fall, I suspect Seattle wouldn’t hesitate in picking them up. However, I want to take a more realistic approach considering we are picking at the very tail end of round 2 and 3. I’m going to focus on players that I think will be available between picks 55-101. After all, Seattle will likely try to trade back to recoup more picks.

Day two picks: 59, 64, 101
