Rashaad Penny

Right now, Penny is assumed to be the Seahawks’ No. 2 running back. With that said, it’s unclear how available he’ll be in 2020 after tearing his ACL near the end of the 2019 campaign. Chances are he starts the season on the PUP list, which will force him to miss the first six games.

If that ends up being the case, he could quickly fall out of favor in the Seattle offense.

Penny has flashed upside since the Seahawks made him their first-round pick back in 2018. Unfortunately, he hasn’t been able to stay healthy long enough to get into a rhythm. Now coming off a torn ACL, he has an even steeper hill to climb to convince this coaching staff he deserves a significant role moving forward.

Since I’m making predictions here, I’m going to say it’s a disappointing third season for Penny. Not only does he record his lowest totals for touches, yards and touchdowns, but he fails to earn the No. 2 role back when he finally gets off the PUP list. Injuries may open some doors down the road, but it’s nowhere near the breakout season Seattle is hoping for.

The letdown continues as Penny inches ever closer to “bust” territory. The talent is obviously there, but the unreliability could soon force the Seahawks to consider his future with the franchise.

2020 Stat Predictions: 50 carries, 225 rushing yards, 1 rushing TD, 6 receptions, 32 receiving yards
