On Friday we asked 12s on Twitter who they think should be Seahawks for life from players on the current roster. This is what they had to say.

12s are a passionate bunch and do not mind speaking their mind when it comes to the Seahawks. This week I asked on Twitter which current Seahawks should play the rest of their careers in Seattle. There was one answer – you can guess who that might be – that was on everyone’s list. One of the other most common answers surprised me a bit though.

I am not smart enough to create graphs. Plus, they can be a bit self-absorbed in this case. Like, Hey! I asked a question and created this graph. You will just have to trust me on this. Amid many responses to the tweet of which three Seahawks should be in Seattle for life, Russell Wilson was on every list.

By far the second most popular pick was likely future Hall of Fame linebacker Bobby Wagner. Both Wilson and Wagner, of course, have played their entire careers in Seattle after being chosen in the 2012 NFL draft. That’s one really good draft class. (Bruce Irvin was also part of it.)

Wilson is signed through 2023 and will be 35 years old at the end of that season. Wagner is signed through 2022 and will be 32 years old at the end of that year.

Beyond keeping Russell Wilson and Bobby Wagner

But 12s had to name three current Seahawks they want to always play for Seattle. This is where is got a bit interesting.

Our own Geoff Shull didn’t even go with Wagner. He chose receiver Tyler Lockett and defensive tackle Poona Ford. Maybe Geoff just wanted to type out “Poooooona,” or maybe he thinks Ford is an anchor on the defensive front for the next eight years. He very likely could be right.

Mark chose punter Michael Dickson. I like this pick. Dickson was First-Team All-Pro in his rookie year of 2018 and wasn’t quite as good last season. But he was still great and should be great for the Seahawks for many many more seasons.

Dude, ouch. Still, Jadeveon Clowney didn’t start in Seattle so he could never be a Seahawk-lifer either way.

I got a few K.J. Wright responses. Wright has been a good player and a better human being while in Seattle. But Seattle has Cody Barton and drafted Jordyn Brooks in the first round this year. Wright is entering his last year in Seattle.

I will end with this last tweet because, besides Wilson and Wager, the most responses I got for a player the Seahawks should wrap up for the entirety of their career were Lockett tied with D.K. Metcalf.

Next. Three missed opportunities for the Seahawks this offseason. dark

I asked for three players but this tweet has four. There is nothing wrong with an opinion and having Lockett and Metcalf for years to come would be a great thing.
