In more weird 2020 Seahawks news, the team announced that there will be no fans at CenturyLink Field for at least the first three games of the season.

2020 continues to be the year that needs to end so we can start anew. On Wednesday, the Seahawks announced that there will be no fans allowed at CenturyLink Field through at least the first three games of the season. This is not the Seahawks news 12s want to hear.

Still, the move is the right one. Keeping people safe is more important than having fans in stands. While 12s can help affect any given game, the Seahawks are good enough to win without the fans’ help.

Seattle’s first three home games are on September 20th (week two against the New England Patriots), September 27th (week three versus the Dallas Cowboys) and October 11th (week five hosting the Minnesota Vikings). The first home game that could potentially have 12s at CenturyLink Field would be on November 1st in week eight when the Seahawks are slated to face the San Francisco 49ers.

Seahawks news: What other teams are doing

Seattle isn’t the only team not having fans in seats. In fact, most teams won’t host fans to start the year. When the Seahawks kick off the season in Atlanta on September 13th, the Falcons won’t have people in the stands either.

The Seahawks play the Dolphins in week four in Miami, but the Dolphins haven’t decided whether they will let a limited number of fans into the stadium yet. With the way COVID-19 is affecting the state of Florida, it would not be surprising if the Dolphins held off on letting fans come to games.

As far as the Seahawks NFC West rivals go, the Arizona Cardinals said in early July that a limited amount of fans would be allowed to come to games but no official number has been released. The 49ers and Los Angeles Rams haven’t made a final decision of fans or no fans, but as they are located in California, it would seem like they wouldn’t have fans show up for a while.
