The best player in Seahawks history has the same number of days left before the 2020 season starts.

Yeah, 12s. I went there. I said Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson is the best player in Seattle football history. Sure, Seattle has had some great players like Hall of Famers Steve Largent and Walter Jones and Kenny Easley and Cortez Kennedy and so on. But none of them played the position of most importance. Russell Wilson is the most important figure in Seahawks history on the field.

As Russell Wilson’s 2020 season goes so goes the Seattle season. If Wilson is healthy and great, the Seahawks can have a great year. Wilson just happens to wear number 3 and that is also the same number of days before Seattle starts their year. So in honor of the number 3, here are some most excellent Wilson moments.

Russell Wilson versus Cardinals 2017

So, let me start with a ridiculous play. Wilson pirouettes not once but twice under immense pressure and somehow finds a way to complete the pass to Doug Baldwin. For any other quarterback, one would say this is a lucky play. But for Russell Wilson, a person would look at it and say, “Yeah, that seems about right.”

Russell Wilson versus Packers in NFC Championship game 2015

Wilson on paper had a tough day with four interceptions. Really, he threw maybe two as Jermaine Kearse let two passes bounce off his hands into the waiting arms of Packers. Still, at the end of the game when a play needed to be made Wilson trusted Kearse and threw a deep middle pass that would send the Seahawks back to the Super Bowl.

I will leave you 12s with this one. This play was not only a ridiculous throw with Wilson throwing against his body but also an amazing catch by Tyler Lockett. Seattle would win the game but needed plays like this. Enjoy 2020 everybody!
