Carlos Hyde outgains Chris Carson in rushing

Chris Carson is going to be the starting running back for the Seahawks throughout the 2020 season, if he stays healthy. He will get more carries and more yards and probably more touchdowns than any other back Seattle has this year. But not on Sunday versus the Falcons.

Oh, I think Carson will still get more carries, but he won’t get as many yards as Carlos Hyde does versus the Falcons. The reason for this? I don’t have one other than to say Hyde will want to make his mark immediately for Seattle.

Both Carson and Hyde like to run inside and chew up yards. Carson will get his yards, hopefully not fumble, but Atlanta will also be focused on him. In 2019, Carson ran for 90 yards against the Falcons in a Seattle win.

Hyde also played against the Falcons in 2019 when he was with the Texans and he gained just 60 yards. Atlanta will view the threat of Carson as greater than Hyde and be more focused with Carson in the game.

There won’t be a huge discrepancy in yards. Carson will get 57 and Hyde will get 61 but Hyde will outrush Carson in week one.
