I wanted to do something a little different. This article goes over 3 fun stats from the Seahawks week 1 win over Atlanta that you won’t read anywhere else.

The Seahawks were amazing in week 1. From the on-field production to the play calling. I was thoroughly impressed. Despite a very limited off-season, several younger/new players stepped in seamlessly.

A quick analysis at a couple of position groupings before the fun stats

The offensive line started out very shaky. However, as the game went on, you could actually see the unit starting to gel together. Offensive linemen have to know and trust one another to be successful. For a unit that has only two returning starters and zero games under their belt, this was a very promising sign.

The Seahawks defensive line was slightly better than expected. Benson Mayowa and LJ Collier were actually both very good. Collier nearly had a sack. Atlanta’s QB elected to throw the ball into the dirt as he went down and absorb a penalty instead of Collier getting the sack. Benson Mayowa had one sack and almost a second.

The interior defensive line, they were far less impressive. Massive holes were open all games on the interior to run through. If Seattle wants to be successful, this will need to be cleaned up. I actually just wrote an article about the 3 players I think Seattle should sign to remedy this.

Overall, the two biggest question marks on the team played well. I don’t want to dive too deep into a game analysis. After all, Jake Luppino already went through all this. I simply wanted to throw my two cents in before diving into my fun stats.

Without further ado, my fun stats. If you liked this article, do me a favor and leave a comment. This is a very time-consuming article in terms of research. So, I want to make sure it is something that truly interests you if I am going to do this weekly.
