Seattle Seahawks: 5 takeaways from win versus Cowboys

Shaquem Griffin needs to remain on the active roster
On Saturday, it was announced that the Seahawks were going to be activating Shaquem Griffin off the practice squad.
How awesome was it to see the Griffin twins united once again on game day? Of course, the last time we saw that came in the playoffs against the Packers where Shaquem recorded his first-ever career sack.
Yesterday, the Griffin twins had an impact on this game. Shaquem Griffin did not see much playing time until late in the game when Seattle wanted to put some speed and athleticism on the defensive line. Every time he lined up on the field, I was watching #49 go to work.
I just don’t know how you can root against this kid. He exudes confidence and shows that hard work and grit will determine your future no matter what kind of obstacles arise. With only one hand, Griffin does not make excuses for not making plays; he simply just plays.
Late in the game, when Griffin was struggling to get to Dak, Seattle decided to use him in coverage as a spy. With his speed, Griffin was able to make nice tackles late in the game forcing Dallas to stay inbounds while also keeping them from gaining yardage on the check downs.
With all the injuries suffered yesterday and thus far throughout the year, I hope Seattle keeps Griffin on the active roster as his speed can be used. Depending on how serious Brooks’ injury is, if Seattle decides to sign Damion “Snacks” Harrison, maybe Griffin can take the place of Brooks for the time being.
