Seahawks offensive and defense grades from week five victory

As alluded to earlier, it seemed as if Dalvin Cook was on the verge of having a big day. And yes, his backup rushed for over 100 yards. And yes, Minnesota rushed for over 200 yards. I know the strength of this Seattle defense is our run defense and last night, they didn’t do as well as we had hoped. But, man, K.J. Wright is showing he can still ball at the age of 31 years old.
In back to back weeks, Wright has been all over the place and most importantly, he has been in the right spots at the right times. Last night, Wright was playing on the line, replacing Bruce Irvin. Although I love Bobby Wagner and think he is the best MLB in football, Wright is getting the spotlight this morning.
Wright was involved in 3 critical plays last night. First, he recovered the fumble, in what should have been a touchdown if the refs did not blow the play dead. Second, he had a one-handed interception that sure got me out of my seat as he dropped two easy ones in last week’s win over the Dolphins.
Lastly, he made the big play on the 2 point conversion to stop Kirk Cousins. He diagnosed the play and stunted his way into the middle to prevent Cousins from getting in the end zone. Also, how about Cody Barton last night? He was all over the place and was the first line of defense against Mattison on that 4th down run late in the game.
