Potential trade partner number 3: Los Angles Chargers

The Chargers are underperforming to an extreme degree. This is no dig at the offense. After all, rookie quarterback Justin Herbert has been phenomenal thus far. However, as a unit, it has been suboptimal.

Sure, the laundry list of injuries plays a part. But that is just part of the game. The Chargers are one loss away from hanging up the white flag and racing for the top pick in the draft. This wouldn’t necessarily be the worst thing either. The draft looks incredibly deep on the offensive side of the ball. Give their young QB more weapons/protection.

If this happens, the Seahawks need to be ready. There are a couple of very intriguing players that they should be very interested in.

Buyer:

This is a buy-low opportunity for Melvin Ingram, who is currently on the injured reserve with a hamstring issue. Ingram is eligible to return as soon as this week. Trading for him once he is healthy gives Seattle a chance to have a true difference-maker on the defensive line. This would also help the Chargers get out of the newly reconstructed contract.

The Chargers would get two mid-round draft picks to help continue the rebuild and a capable center. Their starting center Mike Pouncy’s season ended just a couple of weeks ago after an injury led to surgery. This would help offer some depth at this position.

Buyer:

Desmond King has fallen out of favor with the Chargers. This would be a buy-low opportunity for the once very promising cornerback prospect. Just two seasons ago King registered an elite 90.5 PFF grade. Since that time, he has struggled with consistency and technique. This trade would offer a fresh start for all parties.
