Russell Wilson will throw for 450 yards and 5 touchdowns

The Jets have a bad pass defense. New York currently ranks 31st in yards allowed passing in the NFL. Yes, I get that the Seahawks rank 32nd but just when you think the Seahawks pass defense is horrible, this is where the Jets statistics are even worse than Seattle’s in pass defense:

Quarterback rating allowed (104.1, 29th in the NFL – Seattle is 19th)

Sack percentage (4.2, 27th in the NFL – Seattle is 16th)

Touchdown percentage (5.3, 24th in the league – Seattle is 7th)

Touchdown passes allowed (24, 27th in the league – Seattle is 20th)

I could go on but likely you see my point. While Russell Wilson appears to have mostly been in a slump the last 7 games, this is the game where he, at least temporarily, breaks out of it. For all of Wilson’s early-season greatness, his highest passing yards thrown in a game this year is 390 against the Bills in week 9. Wilson hasn’t passed for more than 263 yards since week 9.

But if the Seahawks are smart, they won’t try to force the run against a decent Jets run defense and will let Russ cook against the Jets and he will give Seattle 400-plus yards and five touchdowns. If Russ can’t cook against New York, then there are serious issues going on with Wilson that deserve a more detailed look.
