The Seahawks play the Jets on Sunday and are overall pretty healthy.

The Seahawks could be without Carlos Dunlap in week 14’s matchup versus the New York Jets. Dunlap was limited in week 13 in Seattle’s loss to the New York Giants and did not have the same kind of impact he has had since being traded to the Seahawks before week 9.

In week 13, Dunlap was able to play just 23 snaps (41 percent of Seattle’s defensive snaps) because of a foot injury. After having at least one quarterback hit in every game since coming to Seattle, Dunlap had just one tackle against the Giants.

Dunlap is listed as questionable against the Jets on Sunday. That said, the Jets are so bad (they haven’t won game) that if Dunlap cannot play then that should not be the reason the Seahawks lose. In fact, Dunlap is so valuable to Seattle’s defense that keeping him out against the winless Jets might be the right move. Saving Dunlap for later in the year is more important.

Seattle only has one player listed as out for Sunday and that is backup guard/tackle Jamarco Jones with a groin injury. Seattle also lists running back Travis Homer as doubtful with a knee injury. To be fair, Homer has likely been overtaken on the running back depth chart by DeeJay Dallas and is Seattle’s fourth option. Homer also has been replaced on kick returns by D.J. Reed.

Seattle’s questionable include tackle Cedric Ogbuechi, safety Ryan Neal and guard Phil Haynes/ All three of these players are backups.

This means Seattle will get back right tackle Brandon Shell and Shell has been really good this year. His return should mean Russell Wilson feels a bit more comfortable in the pocket and Seattle should be able to throw a bunch versus the terrible Jets secondary.

The Jets

The Jets are in worse shape than the Seahawks with five players listed as out and three listed as questionable. Linebacker Jordan Jenkins is officially out with a shoulder issue and while he has not been great this season, Jenkins did have 7 sacks in 2018 and 8 in 2019.

One of the questionables includes running back Frank Gore (concussion) who has been a productive veteran. Another is receiver Jamison Crowder (calf) who started the season with three-straight 100-yard receiving games.
