Tyler Lockett will have 90 yards receiving on 10 catches but D.K. Metcalf will only have 25 yards on 2 catches

This will not be a game that D.K. Metcalf will put on his highlight reel when his career ends. Metcalf will only get four targets and catch just two of them for 25 yards. The long will be 16 yards. And Metcalf won’t even sniff the end zone.

Washington does an amazing job of limiting big plays and limiting yards after catch. The Football Team has allowed only 32 passes to be completed for 20 yards or more this year and this is out of 480 attempts. This equates to 7 percent of the time Washington allowing an explosive pass play, third-best in the NFL.

But smaller quick receivers can cause problems for Washington. Enter Tyler Lockett. Last week against the 49ers, Washington saw the 49ers Brandon Aiyuk catch 10 passes on 16 targets for 119 yards. No other 49er caught more than 3 passes and I see the same thing unfolding for Russell Wilson and company against Washington.

Carson will catch a couple of short passes out of the backfield and Jacob Hollister will catch a few passes but none of them for many yards. Lockett will be the key to the Seahawks passing game as they attempt to win the game on longer drives by picking up first down after first down.
