The story of the Seahawks last 8 years if they never drafted Russell Wilson
2020: Seattle trades for Ngakoue and Adams as they go all out to try and win now
The Seahawks make two huge offseason trades during the pandemic ridden summer for Yannick Ngakoue and Jamal Adams losing multiple first-rounders, a second-rounder, and a third-rounder. They also sign Jamal Adams to an extension right after the trade keeping him in Seattle for the near future along with defensive superstars Frank Clark and Bobby Wagner.
As it stands right now the Seahawks are 11-3 coming off their third loss of the season, suffered at the hands of the Russell Wilson-led Washington Football Team. Their roster might be head to toe the best in the league and they are one of the favorites in the NFC along with the Saints, Packers, and Washington Football Team. After all of the hypothetical trades, drafts, and signings, here is what the Seahawks roster would look like today with 2020 Pro Bowlers in bold.
QB Lamar Jackson
RB Chris Carson, Miles Sanders
WR Tyler Lockett, DK Metcalf, Paul Richardson
TE Mark Andrews
OL Orlando Brown, Brandon Brooks (Out for season), Ethan Pocic, Damien Lewis, Russell Okung
DL Frank Clark, Jarran Reed, Poona Ford, Yannick Ngakoue
LB Bobby Wagner, KJ Wright, Jordyn Brooks
DB Jamal Adams, Quandre Diggs, Shaquill Griffin, DJ Reed
In conclusion, we should not take what we have for granted. While that roster above looks insane, Russell Wilson helped bring us a Super Bowl and many teams have stories similar to this one of searching for a QB, and some have even been searching for a QB for decades. If it weren’t for the Seahawks making the unpopular decision to take Wilson with the 75th pick in the 2012 NFL Draft, this 8-year stretch could have been our reality.
