The story of the Seahawks last 8 years if they never drafted Russell Wilson
2018: Seattle has a monster draft, competes in 2018, and the future looks bright for the offense
The Seahawks head into the night of the 2018 NFL draft with the 10th pick but trade down twice (Similar trade to the Cardinals trade for Josh Rosen and the deal with the Packers that actually happened) all the way back to pick 27, and they draft the 5th QB off the board, Lamar Jackson. With three picks in the 3rd round (Arizona, Green Bay, own pick since they did not trade for Duane Brown) the Seahawks take Rasheem Green, Orlando Brown, and Mark Andrews.
After some trades moving up and down the Seahawks also take some more good players like Jordan Whitehead, Tre Flowers, and Michael Dickson. Looking back (at my alternate universe) Seattle hit multiple grand slams in the 2018 draft.
While the Legion of Boom is gone, the Seahawks have the money to re-sign Paul Richardson and Sheldon Richardson. They go into the season with an exciting young offense and a reinvented defense led by Bobby Wagner, Earl Thomas, and Frank Clark.
Jackson struggles as any rookie QB would, but the team around him and his rushing abilities propel Seattle to an 11-5 record. However, in his first playoff start, Lamar Jackson gets shut down by the Cowboys defense, and Seattle is bounced in the first round. While the season ends in a disappointing fashion, it is clear that there is something brewing with the young talent in Seattle.
