Running back Mike Davis

Seattle needs to bring Mike Davis home. Davis was a Seahawk between 2017 and 2018 and was pretty productive with his limited workload. In 2020 with the Carolina Panthers, Davis rushed for 642 yards and 6 touchdowns on a team that had a lot of limitations offensively.

The Seahawks could also have a big problem at running back next year as well. Carlos Hyde and Chris Carson are both unrestricted free agents. Hyde can walk and it won’t make too big of a difference as he was basically up and down during the season for Seattle. Carson on the other hand is a different story.

Carson has been Seattle’s best back since 2014 when Marshawn Lynch was still young enough and healthy enough to run the ball effectively for Seattle. Seattle did all they could to ill-use Carson this year, though. Carson was really the only thing working offensively early in the playoff game against the Rams and Seattle did not give him the ball enough. Just like they didn’t enough for most of the year when Carson was healthy.

Chris Carson needs to be re-signed but Hyde won’t and Rashaad Penny hasn’t proven he can be reliable for a lot of carries. Seattle needs another back and Mike Davis is the perfect size for a Pete Carroll running back. Seattle needs to re-sign him.
