Four Seahawks who are making major noise at training camp
By Geoff Shull
Standout player #2: Penny Hart, WR
The Seahawks have moved to a new offensive model. They plan on using a lot of quick passes in the intermediate areas of the field. They need quick and elusive bodies to make these plays work. It is because of this they spent their second-round pick this year on a dynamic player, D’Wayne Eskridge.
However, the yearly injury of the Seahawks top draft picks has continued. Eskridge has yet to practice. This is putting him at a significant disadvantage for starting the year as the WR3. This leaves the door open for the next man up.
Penny Hart has made the absolute most of his opportunities. He has displayed lightning-fast feet and amassed yards after the catch on a daily basis. The coaches are impressed with what they have seen so far from the third-year wideout. He has improved in every facet of the game from last year.
He may not beat anyone with his straight-line speed. However, his savviness and agility are setting him apart from the rest of the lot. He is becoming a virtual lock to make the roster at this point.
