Three Seahawks that disappointed in loss to the Raiders

Tre Flowers
A couple of years ago I was hopeful, with more experience at cornerback after transitioning from safety in college, that Tre Flowers would develop into a pretty good right cornerback. Flowers lost his starting spot heading into 2020, however, and when he did come into play at the beginning of last year he was terrible.
As the season went on, though, Flowers seemed to get better and then he got hurt. But this training camp Pete Carroll has said Flowers looks better than he ever has in a Seahawks uniform. If what we saw from Flowers on Saturday is anything close to what Carroll was talking about then Tre Flowers’ best is not good enough to make the Seattle roster.
Early in the game, Flowers either gave up easy completions underneath – Flowers is a big guy and needs to be a lot more physical when playing receivers – or got beat down the sideline on a throw by a third-string quarterback, Nathan Peterman, who made the completion look easy.
There is simply no way at this point that Flowers should come anywhere close to starter’s reps in real games. Heck, in limited time, rookie corner Tre Brown looked better than Flowers. Ahkello Witherspoon looked decent and D.J. Reed didn’t play. When the real games start, Flowers is the one who shouldn’t be playing.
