Marquise Blair

I expect the talented third-year player to finally establish himself this year with the Seahawks as the force we’ve all seen. Unlike Taylor, the versatility of Marquise Blair has worked against him to some degree. He can play slot corner and fill in at either safety position, too. He was the Seahawks choice for nickel corner – God, I almost wrote Nickelback and got a horrific earworm – in 2020. The 12s were cheated from a full season of Blair’s violent play when he was lost for the season in week two.

Here at 12thManRising, we all happen to think Blair is an absolute beast. Before his rookie campaign even started, I dared to compare him to the great Kam Chancellor. An unfair comparison, as I pointed out in the article. And then Blair made that play again the Falcons as a rookie. All good 12s remember the obliterating hits courtesy of Mr. Blair, like this one against the Niners. Beastly.

Just a month ago, Mr. Vowell mapped out a very possible future for Blair. I see him playing like an absolute missile as the nickel and stepping in for both Adams and Diggs as necessary. All good little 12s remember it wasn’t too long ago the Bradley McDougald was signed as insurance for the Seahawks, then became a key defender for the next few years. This is Marquise Blair’s year to shine.
