The Seahawks have a big game on Sunday against the 49ers and following two devastating losses, there are reasons for 12s to worry about Seattle’s upcoming game. While Seattle competed well with San Francisco even two seasons again when the 49ers went to the Super Bowl, this Seattle defense is worse.

Here are three big reasons to be concerned when Seattle travels to San Francisco to play the 49ers in week 4.

1. The Seahawks defensive woes

For Seattle, the defensive struggles have been apparent in each of their losses to the Titans and the Vikings, especially in the secondary. The Vikings torched the Seahawks for 323 yards passing and Kirk Cousins threw 3 TD.

The Seahawks run defense also left much to be desired against second string running back Alexander Mattison, who ran for 112 yards. The Seahawks defense overall has lots of questions coming into a crucial division game against the Niners. They need to find answers to avoid a dreaded 1-3 start.

2. Injuries

The Seahawks will be without TE Gerald Everett this weekend, as he tested positive for Covid-19. Also, running back Rashaad Penny is still on the IR with a calf injury and is not expected to be back this week. Tyler Lockett has been limited in practice this week and is dealing with a hip injury he aggravated in last week’s game against the Vikings.

With Everett already out due to Covid, Lockett needs to be available, so Wilson has as many weapons as possible against a tough Niners defense.

3. Panic could be setting in

Although the season is only 3 games into a 17-game schedule, Seattle has had a rough couple of weeks following a week 1 win in Indianapolis. Judging by the finger-pointing and the expressions on the defense last week, players are starting to get frustrated with their early-season struggles.

Another loss this week could send Seattle into free fall, as they play the 3-0 Rams next week on Thursday Night Football. Hopefully, the Seahawks use desperation as a motivator this week, and they can overcome their early-season struggles, but another loss would be painful.
