The Seahawks are looking to turn their season around, and San Francisco could be a good place to start. A win against a division rival is exactly what Seattle needs to basically re-start this year. A victory over the 49ers in week 4 and the Rams in week 5 would be massive.

12s should have faith in Seattle still, though. A 1-2 start does not mean the season is over but the NFC West is tough so another loss would make things worse than if Seattle played in the AFC South, for instance. Here are three reasons for hope in week 4.

1. The Seahawks have found success in San Francisco

Seattle has won four of their last five games against the Niners in San Francisco. Last year’s game was played in Arizona, and Seattle also won that game. Pete Carroll has spoken in the past about how much he loves coaching in San Francisco because it is near where he grew up. The Seahawks have also had success there, which is why this might be the best place for the Seahawks to play coming off two bad losses.

2. San Francisco lacks offensive firepower

The Niners are without two of their starting running backs, and their third-string running back Elijah Mitchell is questionable for Sunday’s game. Outside of All-Pro TE George Kittle, their only other receiver over 100 yards receiving is Deebo Samuel.

Here are three reasons for the Seahawks to have hope against the Niners

For a Seahawks defense that has given up the most yards of any team this season, this is welcome news. The key will be to shutdown Samuel on the outside and being able to tackle Kittle after the catch.

3. The offense should find success against the Niners defense

The Niners are not producing one of the best pass rushes in football they usually do when healthy. They are tied for 15th in sacks this season, when they were healthy in 2019, they finished 6th in sacks. The Niners are 16th in yards allowed this season which is middle of the road, and they have just one takeaway.

Also, Robert Saleh is no longer the defensive coordinator for the Niners, as he is now the head coach of the New York Jets. They are now led by their former linebacker’s coach DeMeco Ryans who took over upon Saleh’s departure.

This is the time for the Seahawks to seize the opportunity to right the ship against a Niners team that has been up and down to start the season. A win would firmly put the Seahawks back in contention and give them momentum coming into a big game against the Rams on Thursday Night Football.
