Packers concerns versus the Seahawks

12th Man Rising: What are some of the biggest concerns entering week 10’s matchup with the Seahawks for Packers fans?

Paul Bretl: The biggest one is special teams—it literally cost them nine points last week — 2 missed field goals and a fumbled punt — and Green Bay only lost to Kansas City by six.

Poor special teams play is, unfortunately, nothing new to Packers fans, but even with the change at coordinator with the internal hiring of Maurice Drayton this past offseason, nothing has really changed. Mason Crosby has already missed six field goals this season and in no way are all of them his fault. There have been bad snaps — Green Bay is on their second long-snapper this season — poor holds, and the inability to consistently block.

The kick return unit struggles to get the ball past the 20-yard line while Amari Rodgers has been wildly inconsistent at fielding punts. On the bright side, Corey Bojorquez — who the Packers traded for just before the season began — has been very good. But overall, this unit has been a mess and I don’t see any saving grace at this time.
