The Seattle Seahawks struggled at rushing the quarterback this year posting only 34 sacks, which ranked 23rd in the league. This means now is the time for the Seahawks to be active in the free agent market to bolster the defensive line.
With lots of available defensive linemen in this year’s free agency, it is time to find possible fits to make the defense even better. With half of the final four teams in the postseason finishing inside the top 10 in sacks, the defensive line cannot be overlooked this offseason.
The Seahawks have tried to address this problem through the draft and trade deadline but still have struggled to find a consistent pass rush. The last time Seattle was successful in rebuilding their defensive line they targeted the position in free agency. Adding Michael Bennett and Cliff Avril in the 2013 free agency was critical to building an unstoppable force on defense.
Seahawks should sign these five defensive linemen to help defense be great in 2022
LJ Collier has unfortunately been a disappointment since he was drafted in 2019, in the first round. Although Carlos Dunlap has been good in the pass rush since his acquisition via trade, the Seahawks need to add around him.
Seattle will have the six-highest amount cap space available to go after free agents this off-season with over $39 million in cap space available. They should use some of that money to target the defensive line in free agency. Here are five defensive linemen the Seahawks should find this off-season.
