Center Ryan Jensen

Jensen would provide the Seahawks with consistency at the center position, given the injury issues with Kyle Fuller and Ethan Pocic this year. Center has always been an issue for the Seahawks ever since they traded Max Unger to the Saints for Jimmy Graham.

Jensen was great at protecting Tom Brady in both 2020 and 2021, starting every game at center. Like Allen, he can work well in both the passing game and the run game. However, Ryan Jensen is more well-known than Allen, considering he blocks for one of the most famous quarterbacks in the NFL.

This means his market is likely to be more saturated with other buyers, creating a potential bidding war, where whoever signs him could overpay. Also, Jensen played in a different scheme in Tampa Bay, than Allen did in LA. Jensen is more accustomed to pass blocking more often than run blocking.

With Allen, Seattle would get a player who fits the scheme they are trying to run, rather than needing to teach Jensen more run blocking techniques. Still, Jensen is a viable option for the Seahawks if they are willing to pay top dollar for a top-tier offensive lineman who stays consistently healthy.
