LT Duane Brown

Say what you want about 36-year-old Duane Brown, but he hasn’t given the Seattle Seahawks any reason of not bringing him back. He has made it clear that he wants to remain in Seattle. He has an excellent rapport with his quarterback and most importantly, he has shown minimal signs of regression. PFF currently has him ranked as the 35th best free agent.

Although, for Seattle, he should be atop of their list. One of the larger concerns over Browns’ career has been injuries. He entered the 2021 season as healthy as he’s probably been in years and it paid off as he just made his 5th Pro Bowl appearance. Once again, he enters the 2022 offseason in good health. In this era of football, age is simply just a number. We just saw LT Andrew Whitworth win a Super Bowl at the age of 40.

Chances are Brown will be looking for close to $10 million in base salary as he was making a similar amount to that last season. Remember, he tried getting extended before the start of the regular season. Instead, he had to settle for reworking his contract. Now, he will be looking for his money and I am hopeful that both sides will come to an agreement. When assessing an aging player, you have to point to their regressions in evaluation. Brown has done enough to earn himself another contract.
