RT Trent Brown

Signing free agent tackle Trent Brown will not be an easy task as he has deep ties with the New England Patriots. But, he certainly could be the answer to the problems the Seattle Seahawks have been having on the right side of their offensive line. Last year, with Brandon Shell out due to shoulder injuries, rookie tackle Jake Curhan was able to step in and prove his worth.

Again, one way to solidify this offensive line would be to sign established players at their position. PFF graded Brown at 77.6, only allowing 1 sack and being penalized 1 time. Money-wise, he is going to be expensive. The market value of this position hovers around $13 million per year. Given his current age — 28-years-old — Brown will most likely be looking for a 4-year deal.

Whether it be through contract extensions or cutting ties with certain players, the Seahawks do have some wiggle room to increase their spending money. If this team truly wants to get back to the Super Bowl, signing someone like Trent Brown will certainly trend them in the right direction. He is super efficient in the passing game and will be much needed in a division that features 4 potential Super Bowl contenders. Who, by the way, all have offensive-minded coaches. Two of which (McVay & Shanhan), just faced off in the NFC Conference Championship.
