5 running backs the Seahawks should look at taking in the 2022 NFL draft
Seahawks could use one of their earliest picks on these three
Isaiah Spiller, Texas A&M
We didn’t get to see Spiller run his 40 time but I don’t suspect it would’ve been too much faster than 4.5 based on his game tape. His ability to catch out of the backfield and break tackles looks very LeVeon Bell-esque. And I’m talking about Pittsburgh Steelers-in-his-prime LeVeon. Spiller is an all-around back who can run between the tackles as well as pick up a block in pass protection which is perfect in a Shane Waldron system.
Breece Hall, Iowa State
Hall has a very similar game to Spiller in that he can be used between the tackles as well as up the middle. He has an excellent burst and great field vision. His collegiate production was insane and he had 24 straight games with a touchdown. It’s clear the man has a knack for finding the end zone.
Kenneth Walker, Michigan State
Walker did everything possible to prove he’s the best running back in this draft at the combine. He ran a 4.38 40-yard dash. On tape, he is far and away the most explosive running back in the draft. When he sees an open hole he hits it without hesitation. His field vision is on display in every game I watched. He has an amazing cutting ability.
Walker didn’t catch many passes in the Spartans offense but that may be because he wasn’t asked to and not because he isn’t capable of being a good receiver. He did such a great job between the tackles the Spartans didn’t need to get him the ball in space.
