A too-early guess at Seahawks offensive starters Week 1 of 2022

The Seattle Seahawks might be a decent team in 2022, but if they are they will likely exceed most people’s current expectations. Seattle plays in an extremely tough division and even if they still had Russell Wilson they might be predicted to finish last this coming season.

After all, Seattle finished last in 2021 and had Wilson for the majority of the year. They just weren’t good enough to make the postseason like every other team in their division did.

For the Seahawks to exceed expectations in 2022, their offense will have to be better-balanced and consistent. But who will start on the unit? This is my best guess right not.

Predicting who will start for the Seahawks on offense in 2022

Quarterback: Drew Lock

While it seems illogical to most of us, John Schneider and Pete Carroll have been doing their best to talk the rest of us into believing they really think Drew Lock can be the quarterback of the Seahawks in 2022. They also haven’t made any moves to replace him so Lock will be the guy.

Running back: Rashaad Penny

Chris Carson hopefully will be a big key in the run game too, but Penny signed for $6 million and the offense looked great at the end of 2021 when Penny was finally able to show what he can do when healthy. Penny should be the starter…until he gets hurt again, of course.

Receivers: Tyler Lockett, DK Metcalf, D’Wayne Eskridge

This seems pretty set unless for some dumb reason Seattle actually trades Metcalf. Hopefully, that won’t happen, however, as Metcalf is still just 24 years old and whoever the quarterback is in Seattle will need top-end talent in which to throw.

Tight end: Noah Fant

I think the Seahawks go with a lot of two tight end sets but I am listing Fant as the starter since he is the better receiver between him and Will Dissly. But Dissly is going to get a ton of reps because Seattle re-signed him to a three-year, $24 million contract this offseason.

Offensive line: Duane Brown (left tackle), Damien Lewis (left guard), Austin Blythe (center), Gabe Jackson (right guard), Jake Curhan (right tackle)

5 QBs the Seahawks should take in the 2023 NFL draft. dark. Next

Currently, the Seahawks have no one to play left tackle really. Unless they plan on going with Stone Forsythe or something and that seems like a reach. My guess is that Seattle re-signs Brown to a one-year deal. Curhan was decent in run-blocking in 2021 and Seattle has no one better than he is either. The middle of the line should be set and the strength of the unit.
