All teams are trying to position themselves well for the 2022 NFL Rookie Draft on April 28th. Most teams are still looking to patch holes on their roster before the draft and the same can be said about the Seattle Seahawks.

The Seahawks still have holes to fill in for both their cornerback and offensive line positions, with the O-line in need of a better center for the new season. Either Seattle finds a way to get those positions fixed before the draft or they will get it done through the draft which remains to be seen.

However, the biggest question that everyone’s been wondering is: What are the Seahawks planning to do about their quarterback position? Although Pete Carroll and the upper management stressed that they will be going into the season with newly acquired QB Drew Lock, a lot of noise says otherwise.

Maybe DK Metcalf should recruit Lamar Jackson to the Seahawks

If the Seahawks don’t intend to use their 9th overall pick this year to land a quarterback, why not try to get an established young QB instead? In comes 2019 NFL Season MVP Ravens’ QB Lamar Jackson, who last week tweeted that he intends to stay in Baltimore.

I believe we’ve all heard the same song before just not long ago. Lamar is still looking for a contract extension with the Ravens, and no doubt his next contract will be massive. Now is the perfect chance for Seahawks to propose a trade for Lamar Jackson from Baltimore in case the contract negotiations fall apart. So why should Seattle go with Lamar when they were not willing to pay Russell Wilson a huge extension?

Russ will be 33 coming into this season, while Lamar will only be 25 years old. That is a huge age difference if a team is looking to extend a player, let alone a franchise quarterback. Also, Lamar Jackson will fit in well with Pete Carroll’s run-heavy scheme plays which he loves to implement.

Here’s what it would look like should the Seahawks make a trade offer for Lamar Jackson:

That may be a huge haul to give out, however, the Seahawks will be getting a dynamic and young franchise quarterback in Lamar Jackson who still has the future ahead of him. Seattle Seahawks already have pass catchers DK Metcalf and Tyler Lockett to help Lamar settle into his new role. Combine that with a solid running back on his side with the re-signed Rashaad Penny.

What a DK Metcalf extension could look like. dark. Next

There are still a lot of moving parts between now and the draft. If Pete Carroll and the Seahawks want to indeed be competitive next season and challenge their division rivals, the trade for QB Lamar Jackson should be a no-brainer.
