Metcalf to the Philadelphia Eagles

The Eagles have already traded first-round picks in the 2022 NFL draft with the Saints so they clearly aren’t afraid to make moves that they think will make their team better. Philadelphia surpassed expectations in 2021 and made the playoffs but still has a lot of weaknesses on offense. They need to get better at quarterback but they also need to vastly improve their receiving group.

Metcalf would instantly make the Eagles offense better by providing a true deep threat that would open up Philadelphia’s run game. One thing Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurt can do is run so if the defense focuses on Metcalf’s deep routes, Hurt is going to have a lot of open space in which to move.

Or if the defense tries to focus on Hurt beating them with his legs, Metcalf is going to see a bunch more one-on-one coverage and Metcalf cannot consistently be covered well in that type of defense.

This trade would allow the Seahawks to add a second first-round selection but also a second-rounder and a third. Overall, Seattle would have 11 picks in 2022 with five in the top 51 and seven in the first three rounds. This should be plenty to build a nucleus to make the rest of the decade successful.
