Seahawks versus New Orleans Saints

Where: Caesars Superdome, New Orleans, Louisiana

When: Week 5, 10/9 at 10 am PT

Why it’s must-see (must-go-to)

Seattle and New Orleans played in 2021, of course, and Seattle lost an ugly game 13-10 and fell to 2-5 on the season. The game was ugly because neither team’s offense did much of anything and neither team could run the ball. Seattle also didn’t trust Geno Smith, starting in place of Russell Wilson, to do much of anything. Smith threw 22 times, mostly short throws and he completed just 12 of them. He was sacked 5 times.

Saints running back Alvin Kamara had just 51 yards rushing on 20 carries but he also had 128 yards receiving. It was a sluggish game that most fans would not have enjoyed.

That said, the 2022 matchup is still one Seattle can win. Plus (and here is the real reason it is among the better games in 2022), 12s can travel to New Orleans to see the game.  There are two outcomes to this trip and one is almost guaranteed.

One is that Drew Lock is the Seahawks quarterback and is playing much better than most expected and therefore Seattle is much better than most anticipated. 12s have a good chance at seeing a Seattle victory.

Two is that Seattle isn’t very good (as expected) but that before and after the game, visiting 12s get to enjoy one of the more interesting cities in the country.
