Weeks 5 through 8

Week 5 – at the New Orleans Saints, October 9th at 10 am PT

A Monday Night Football rain-soaked snoozer last year, this year’s game turns into a blowout as the surprise Saints route the Seahawks down in New Orleans. Behind a healthy Jameis Winston, Michael Thomas, and the arrival of Ohio State wideout Chris Olave, the Saints continue their hot start. Seattle remains winless on the road, 34-10.

Record 2-3

Week 6 – home versus the Arizona Cardinals, October 16th at 1:05 pm PT

Seattle is one of the six fortunate teams to benefit from the DeAndre Hopkins suspension. Without his superstar receiver, Kyler Murray doesn’t look nearly as comfortable and the Cardinals continue to sputter early on in the season, a major change from years past. Back home, the defense continues to play really well at home, and the offense does just enough to defeat the depleted Cardinals, 24-20.

Record 3-3

Week 7 – at the LA Chargers, October 23rd at 1:25 pm PT

Seattle’s first road win of the season is a shocker. The Los Angeles Chargers have a superstar in the making at quarterback in Justin Herbert. They’re also putting together a team that is good enough to win the AFC West and make some noise in the postseason. On this Sunday, the Chargers come out flat as Seahawk nation takes over SoFi Stadium. Seattle’s young pass rush makes a jump, getting to Herbert five times and forcing three turnovers in a shocking upset, 27-19.

Record 4-3

Week 8 – home versus the New York Giants, October 30th at 1:25 pm PT

With a little national love, and some whispers of the postseason being a possibility, the Seahawks lay their first clunker at home, losing to the Giants. The defense continues to surprise, but the offense, and specifically the quarterback play, continues to struggle, 20-13. Whether it’s Russell Wilson, or Geno Smith, the Seahawks continue to lose at home to a bad Giants teams.
