This veteran could bring a wealth of experience to the Seahawks

My final candidate has more starts than Adams and Tartt combined. For that matter, he’s only about a dozen start behind Adams and Diggs’ combined numbers. In most cases, a player who’s been with four teams in 10 seasons is nothing more than a journeyman. But Tashaun Gipson has been the starter in every game he’s played since 2014.

Gipson has started several seasons as both free and strong safety. He started as a free safety with the Browns, then played both spots with the Jaguars. Houston and Chicago primarily lined him up in the box, though.

He may never have been the greatest ballhawk in the league, but he’s had at least one interception in every season. True, it’s been a few years since he led the NFL in interception return yardage (2014), but he can still contribute to a solid defense at either position.

Gipson will be 32 when the 2022 season kicks off. It seems obvious that the Bears feel his best years are behind him, as they’ve let him hit the free-agent market. But as a jack-of-all-trades, he’d be a great pickup for the Seahawks.

Next. These people would be on the Seahawks dream team of owners. dark

Adams and Tartt played for about $1 million last year. Gipson’s total contract was only $2.5 million, but he’s not likely to command nearly that much this season. No matter who the Hawks bring in, they won’t exactly break the bank. Versatility at a good price is exactly what the Seahawks could use right now.
