Seahawks QB option 2: Baker Mayfield – Cleveland Browns

The Cleveland Browns quarterback openly expressed his displeasure towards the team when the news broke that the Browns were planning to acquire Texans’ quarterback Deshaun Watson. Baker felt disrespected and wants to move on from the team, however, no team wanted to trade assets for him on or before draft day, and as this article is being written, Baker is still part of the Browns organization.

Baker is only two years away from guiding the Browns to the playoffs in 2020.  In that season, Baker threw for 3,563 yards with 26 touchdowns with only 8 interceptions.  Also, Baker is coming from a run-first offense just like what Pete Carroll and the Seahawks always want to implement.

Baker Mayfield is only 27 years old, and not factoring his shoulder injury last season, wherein he played through it, he has been relatively healthy.

Still a wait-and-see on what the Browns do with Baker this season as the team is also waiting on the legal situations for their newly acquired and signed quarterback Deshaun Watson. Maybe the Browns decide to keep Mayfield as a backup plan in case Watson cases go south but with how the way they treated Baker, I highly doubt Baker will even show up for this team.
