Should the Seahawks acquire quarterback Baker Mayfield? One of the more famous 12s, Rainn Wilson, says no doubt Mayfield should be in Seattle.

And Wilson isn’t afraid to voice his opinion about a Mayfield and Seahawks union. He took to Twitter on Thursday and said Seattle should “100 percent nab” the current Browns quarterback. Wilson also said Mayfield can reach “GREATNESS” if he does come to the Seahawks.

Of course, whether Mayfield is talented enough to actually truly be great is another story. Literally. But one thing is for sure, Rainn Wilson’s opinion about Mayfield did not go without a lot of disagreeing opinions.

Rainn Wilson wants Baker Mayfield to be the quarterback of the Seattle Seahawks

Here was what Wilson tweeted:

Here are a few responses. The first is one that I am not sure is meant as a joke. If it is a joke, it’s not a good one.

The next one might also be a joke (I hope!) because if it isn’t then this person should never be the Seahawks general manager unless 12s want the team to go into a long decline.

The following tweet is a lot like many other responses Wilson got with Dwight Schrute memes. (This makes sense, obviously, as playing Dwight is what Wilson is best known for, generally speaking.)

Many of the other comments Wilson received (and there were a lot of them), were the opposite of Wilson’s view. It is likely if 12s were polled then the great majority would not be in favor of Baker Mayfield being the quarterback of the Seattle Seahawks.

That said, USA Today’s NFL insider Josina Anderson did tweet earlier this week that there was “high-level” interest from the Seahawks about Mayfield. The question seemed to be how long to keep Mayfield around.

I agree with Wilson to some degree. If Seattle is planning on bringing Mayfield in as a one-year experiment and see how he works out, then Seattle should nab him. If they plan on signing him long-term immediately, then the team shouldn’t.
